Day 2: Disaster!

Ok, lets talk about day 2! So as not to beat around the bush, I struggled. I thought I had a plan for food, and I thought I had a plan for exercise, but.. it is one thing to have an ideal plan, and another when you actually have life happen. I overslept instead of waking up early to do Insanity (day 1), I forgot my Chobani greek yogurt, so breakfast consisted of a banana and a raspberry Nutrigrain bar that I had stashed in my purse for emergencies (this is less than ideal).

Then, the rest of the day went like this...

Snack 1; 1 Smores Luna bar

Lunch; turkey BLT

Ok, not bad so far...
But then....

Dinner; six Fig Newton's and a can of Spaghetti O's –

In short; disaster!

So, I had missed my early morning, hard-core workout, and totally lost the plot when it came to making healthy choices for dinner. I find that when you can get up early and workout, it sets the tone for the rest of the day, gets your metabolism ramped up, and then gives you energy and focus (so you won't forget your breakfast yogurt, say?).

***Tip of the day***

Set yourself up for success! Literally! To help you get out of bed, move your phone/alarm clock away from your bed, so you will physically have to get out of bed in order to turn off your alarm, then, you're already up!!

I had messed up. BIG. At this point, I said “ok, enough is enough”. Sure, I didn't have a perfect day; far from it. But I didn't let that stop me. I have a blog to write dag nab it!! I have followers to not let down! I am on a mission, and just because I don't have much food in the house and I got desperate and lazy in coming up with dinner, and yeah, I didn't get up early and do my hard-core workout, but by-jingo, one mistake isn't gonna stop me. So... then, I got off my butt, and the rest of the evening in terms of food and exercise looks like this...

Workout: 40 min, 5k walk-run intervals

Post work out snack: chocolate protein shake and lots of water!!!

And after my workout I looked like this....
But, I feel good about how hard I worked, how I turned the day around, and that I didn't give up.

In fact, I stripped off all my workout clothes and danced around my office like a fool to "Shake It" by Metro Station and “When I Grow Up” by The Pussycat Dolls in my underwear. Woo hoo for the post-workout Endorphin rush!!
BTW, my dog - Bear thinks I'm crazy.

Ooohh yeahh... Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it!!

When it comes to changing your life, don't expect perfection. Show up, do the work, and expect great things to happen. Oh yeah, and while you're at it, have the time of your life!!
