Super excited! Video #2 goes live! I think my video making skills are getting better!

Exercise: 50 minutes of walking, incline walking, and interval jogging on the treadmill it was raining
Speed between 3 and 5 mph
Goal burn 300 calories
The chocolate frog debacle from yesterday got me inspired, so while I was walking on the treadmill I watched Harry Potter, and The Sorcerers Stone, hee hee
As for food...
I feel like I am in a bit of a food rut right now since I had a BLT for the third or fourth time this week. But I'll admit I am a creature of comfort. I love comfort food! and BLT sandwiches are one of my favorites and a classic.
This leads me to ***The Tip of the Day***
Use avocado instead of mayonnaise!
Today let's talk about avocado versus mayonnaise. I love a good BLT and the only thing I love more than a good BLT is a BLTA or bacon lettuce tomato and avocado sandwich. Being healthy and having a good BLT may seem difficult. I've had sandwiches with out mayonnaise and they are just dry and horrible even if you do put extra tomatoes on it to make a sandwich for juicy. I always feel like I have to put mayonnaise on it otherwise sandwich will be to dry. But the tip of the day is to use avocado instead of mayonnaise.

Lets get down and dirty with a Nutrition facts face-off: mayo vs avocado
AVACADO: per 1 tablespoon; 1/3 g saturated fat, 24 calories, 0mg cholesterol, 1 mg sodium, 1 mg fiber, 0.3g protein, 7% vitamin A 3% calcium 34% vitamin C 8% iron
So aside from avocados superior health benefits over mayonnaise, which has practically no positive health or nutritional value whatsoever, (it's basically just calories, cholesterol and SALT) the taste of a BLT with avocado VS mayo is unsurpassed! BLTs with avocado are much better and I would hands-down have one with avocado over mayonnaise. Another embarrassing fact about me is that I love potato chips. I love the crunch and the saltiness. My favorite brand of potato chips are Lays Salt and Vinegar chips, (seriously they are the best thing ever!) But in attempting to make smarter and healthier choices, an awesome alternative is homemade pickles. Partnering a BLT with a couple of home made pickles is an awesome flavor combination! The saltiness of the turkey bacon plays off the saltiness of the pickles, and if you make your own pickles you can control the amount of salt that is added to the brine. Tip of the day X2!!
Breakfast: wheat toast with apricot preserves and poached egg
Lunch: a BLT with avocado and homemade dill pickles
Snack: Mandarin orange slices
Dinner: I planned on making baked tilapia with dill Greek yogurt glaze and steamed broccoli
but I wasn't very hungry, so I had an apple :) - and then, got super hungry very, very late (and lost it and had a bread pizza and a glass of wine. boo!)
That's if for today! Thanks so much for reading everybody! Stay tuned: Tomorrow I am making banana bread!
