Day 14: a Day of Rest

WHA - WHAT?? SEAHAWKS!!
So it is officially two weeks since the beginning of the better body blog project! It is also Sunday. I firmly believe that when you are changing your life been drinking eat right and exercise is important to take a day of rest.

And what better day to do that then Sunday! It worked out since I woke up this morning and was barely able to move because I was so sore! Yup, calves, abs and chest. All 3 of my target muscle groups for this week. I guess that meant that put in a good effort in my workouts this week especially the ones later on this week with the weightlifting and insanity workouts.

TOUCHDOWN!!!
Soreness is totally normal and to be expected in the beginning of starting new exercises and workout regimens that you've never done before. I may have said it before but it's the body's way of saying that you have worked muscle groups that were weak or worked muscle groups that need to be strengthened.

WATCHING THE HAWKS WITH FRIENDS
Taking a day of rest is important and especially getting next your sleep is very important because rest and sleep is the body's way of restoring and feeling itself and when you've been working out as hard as I have you definitely need to let the body heal, so you take a day off once a week and you work different muscle groups to give the muscle groups you have worked a chance a chance to rest.

So today I spent some extra time resting since I also felt a sore throat coming on and slept in, missed church and then went to work. I am a licensed massage therapist and I had a full schedule at work. I also love the Seahawks and tonight was a very important game for the NFC west conference against the San Francisco 49'ers.

Thankfully due to a thunderstorm there was a one hour delay, so I got to watch a little bit of  the third quarter and the entire last quarter. What a great game! After work I dropped by some friends of friends house from church where everybody goes to watch the game. I also got to Skype with my husband Jason who is deployed overseas in Germany. It was almost as if he was sitting there in the room watching all the rest of us. It was so much fun!

THE MANY FACES OF JASON!!
As for the B3 Project? Well it wasn't the best day in terms of keeping me on schedule because of waking up late, going to work and being wicked busy and then going to a late night football game watching party with pizza! But I am focused for the most part and everyone's in a great while it's okay to give yourself a little break as long as it's not a regular thing. I think taking a day off, taking it easy and having one cheat meal a week is important for morale so that you can still enjoy the food that you like and still do things you like with the people you like. Life would be worth living if you didn't get to hang out go football-watching parties and eat a slice of pizza once in a while. A great, restful morning, a busy and full day of work and a fun night!
