Day 41: "Rouging it at the Coast"

This was a tough weekend for exercise, but not as tough on food as I thought it would be. I tried downloading my insantiy workout to my ipad mini but that didn't work, so I had to improvise. My new workout schedule only has me running 1x per week and doing insanity 3x per week, but since I didn't have my insanity videos to go along with like I thought I would, and I was down at the coast on two beautiful days, I walked one day, and ran another.

Tip of the Day
Something is always better than nothing! When you are at home, planning or scheduling ahead food to stay on track and acivities to get active is a neccesity. It's the same when you are away from home; try to make a plan ahead of time for food and exercise. This may mean making things in advance (like my breakfast cookies) or going to the store so as to have some yogurt, fruit and easy to eat protein available for snacks and meals.

With exercise, you may need to call
ahead to your hotel to see what kind of workout facitilites they have available or to pack resistance bands, workout videos and pack your workout clothes and shoes no matter what! If you've got them you will be so much more likely to use them. Sometimes you've got to be creative. If you ares stuck inside with little room to move around, do calesthetics. Utilize what is around you. Use a dinning chair to do step-ups and tricep dips, or do bicep curls with a suitcase. If you can get outside, find a parkbench, and do inverted pushups. Do squats down the sidewalk. If it's a nice day, go walking or jogging. Just as long as whatever you are doing, you can challenge yourself, and get your heart rate up for at least 30 mins.

It was a great weekend at the coast! Here's how I did today with...

FOOD
Breakfast: 3 breakfast cookies, a peach, 1 slice of bacon, plain scrambled eggs
Snack: an apple & a luna bar (white chocolate macadamia nut)
Lunch: herbed pork tenderloin, avocado, and a peach
Snack: a peach
Dinner: herbed pork tenderloin, cherry tomatoes and avocado

AND

EXERCISE
I ran a 5k on the beach with my sister, who is training for a half marathon. It was tough keeping up with her, but a gorgous view!

Thanks for reading loyal fans!
