Problems especially occur around the fact that we have food-based traditions in my family, like going out to Chinese food or having pizza on Friday nights. Tonight the temptation was pizza, but I set myself up for success by following my mom's old-school advice.

Listen to your inner mama, and eat your vegetables!! Or in my case, when staring down the "loaded gun" of knowing that pizza is available, I followed my mom's advice and then some. That is, I ate my
veggies, plenty of them, and ate them all before I had one slice of pizza. I figured if I fill up on salad, then I would be satisfied with the taste of one piece of pizza without going nuts on the calories.

I thought I would cave. I seriously did, I know how I am around temptation foods like pizza. But I didn't! Woo hoo!
I went Goodwilling with my mom and found this sign. It's good to know, but I read the sign, not as a cop-out to eat because your are stressed, but to recognize the emotion that may be driving extra eating.
So today...
FOOD
Breakfast: Apple-cinnamon oatmeal
Snack: a pear and a luna bar
Lunch: beef stew and home canned pears
Snack: an apple
Dinner: my mom's "everything" salad; spinach, lettuce, chopped apples, cheese, avocado, and broccoli - a few homemade dill pickes and one slice of pizza.
EXERCISE
Due to unforeseen technical difficulties (I couldn't get my Insanity workout to play on my Ipad mini), I had to take the day off. BUT, I got all of my activity points, and was running around after my nephew and niece.
Thanks for reading all!
