So, what lead to this double-tummy trouble? Well tonight was my night at youth group to make snacks, and I went against my better judgement (which said to make something healthy that should I have a taste, I wouldn't feel aweful about, and if there were left overs, well then, I would be too sad to take a few home. INSTEAD, I made a batch of "pumpkin toffee-chip and rolo chunk cookies" and a big batch of "egg nog ice cream punch". Let me clarify that before the project started I was known at youth group as an awesome bringer of the yummiest snacks, or something like that. I haven't made snack for youth group this year yet, and I was in a holiday mood, so that's why I chose what I chose. Egg nog punch is my hubbys favorite, but after tonight I may never touch it again!! The same may be said of the pumpkin-candy cookies.
The first belly-ache came on after I sampled too many of the cookies while baking them. I think I had two, and though, that's it, you've topped out on calories that you are allowed to have, but then I had another, and then some raw dough, and then another, and I think it was probably about cookie #5 or 6 between the finished ones and the dough where the belly ache set in. I should have known I was doomed when I took my first, tiny little taste of chopped rolo candies before I put them into the batter. Just like in an episode of "the Biggest Loser" where the contestants did a bake-off and bake sale and then sell the goodies, they were secretly being watched, and would lose points if they licked their fingers or sampled the goods, I shouldn't have even had a taste. That is a VERY slippery slope!!
So, horribly belly-ache #1
THEN, I went to youth group... determined that I wouldn't TOUCH another cookie. The night wore on, the belly-ache wore off. I should have learend my lesson. But the egg-nog punch didn't go over as well as I hoped it would, and ended up drinking about 4 glasses of punch (which is made with 1 liter of egg nog, 2 liters of lemon-lime soda and 1 1/2 quarts of french vanilla ice cream) because there was SO much left over!! I begged and pleaded with the kids to drink it all, but in the end there was enough left over that I didn't want to waste, but not so much that I didn't see the "do not proceed" flashing lights and warning sirens. I think I drank about 4 glasses of punch. If you haven't caught from past posts about some of my theories on health (don't drink your calories) and negative affects of certain food items (soda - it makes me bloat like a marti-gras pinata or the goodyear blimp) you may want to let me know where I left my brain on this one.
Cue belly ache #2.
To keep a long story short, I am going to attempt to drink some water - even though I feel as though a pin-prick could send me wildly careening around my living room like a deflating balloon, or running for the toilet to HURL, and then go to bed... remembering the wise words of another red-head...

EXERCISE
Though a lame excuse, it is the work week for me, my day was jam-packed and I didn't make time to work out. Tomorrow is another day, and I've GOT to get through my anti-workout FUNK and get back into it. Tomorrow definately. Gotta work off all the BAD, BAD, BAD calories from today's mishap! LAME.
Not the best of days, but a good one to remember. Lessons learned;
#1. If it's a choice between something going to waste and you eating it, toss it in the trash before that thought makes a home in your brain. Pack it up (so you can't see it) and give it away to someone else, or TOSS IT. It's ok. You won't hate yourself for doing that like you will for consuming too much of the wrong thing just because you were afraid of it going to waste. Waste? NOT!!!
#2 - if you've got it in the house (especially if it is freshly baked and full of chocolate, you are probably going to want a taste and you are probably going eat it. So make it healthy, or buy it at the store... and don't TOUCH it! Want NOT.
Shout out to Apes!!! - Get in the kitchen and MAKE something goooood!!
Thanks for reading all!
