Day 66: "Stoutness Exercises"

I woke up this morning to the sound of howling winds and driving rain against my roof. I felt so cozy laying in bed, I didn't want to get up. I felt like watching Pooh Bear!! Yep, that's right. Right then & there, I pulled out my iPad mini, brought up netflix and watched the (origional) Many Adventures of Winne the Pooh, and within three minutes, I was convicted - by Pooh Bear himself, that I needed to get up & work out!

He does his "stoutness exercises" and sings " I improve my appetite, when I exercise!". Now of course Pooh does about 30 seconds of exercises before he pops a seam and then goes to have breakfast, but this moment in animated movie history brings me to my health topic and...

TIP OF THE DAY
When you get up, first thing, go and work out, BEFORE you eat breakfast. I have said before that you should get up and work out first thing before your brain knows any better (and then you will have gotten it out of the way, and can go on with you day), but today I am saying it for a different reason. I usually won't work out immediately after I eat because I want my food to settle and not threated to come back up (who wants a sick tummy first thing?), and so I use that as an excuse to procrastinate!

And honestly, a lot of times, I continue that trend throughout the day, until I either have to do my workout RIGHT before I go to bed in order to get it in, or I won't do it at all!

SO, use this tip as motivation to do your workout first thing. If you decide that you can't eat breakfast until you workout, for said above reasons, then you will want to focus, dig in, get it DONE, so you can EAT, and then get along with your day!

FOOD
Breakfast: 2 HBE's, pumpkin oatmeal and 3/4 of a grapefruit
Snack: mini peppers and a string cheese
Lunch: a quinoa & cilantro-lime chicken burrito bowl salad
Snack: a HBE, some fresh green beans, and later-on, some dark chocolate that I shared with my hubby
Dinner: spaghetti squash with ricotta cheese, parmesean, garlic powder and italian herbs with steamed broccoli - YUM!

Some healthy "snackie-poohs"

EXERCISE
I did do 30 mins on the treadmill - late, at the end of the day.. BOO. But something, even late, is better than nothing. I did just over 2.5 miles in 30 mins and burned 300 calories! YAY!

Lesson learned, if you don't do your workout first thing, you either go hungry, or eat too much and exercise too little, and if you keep up the trend, your lack of "stoutness exercises" may leave you stout, fat and busting a seam or two :)

Thanks for reading all!
